"Purano Panna" is more than a collection of stories; it represents the creative heartbeat of the Nepali migrant worker community throughout the Gulf, Arab region, and Malaysia.
This collection captures the emotions and experiences of migrant workers, often depicting the harsh realities of being separated from their homes, communities, families, and friends.
For migrant workers, these pages contain memories, struggles, and hopes that frequently remain unspoken. Too often, migrant workers are viewed solely through the lens of vulnerability, reduced to statistics, or associated with narratives of tragedy that undermine their dignity. At Shramik Sanjal, we believe every worker possesses a unique story that deserves a platform to be shared with dignity, not merely through the lens of despair.
We aim to shift the narrative from victimhood to voice. Through art and literature, Purano Panna offers a safe space for workers to express authentic emotions, including love, rage, nostalgia, and resilience.
